French-Canadian actually based in Hong Kong, Amélie summarizes what she is seeking in three words: meaningfulness, challenges and fun. Through exploring new industries and new territories, her analytical mindset and charisma make her build networks and secure partnerships with key stakeholders, while creating content and innovative strategies.
Amélie is an experienced jurist that has a masters in international law from the Université de Montréal. She worked as an in-house legal counsel for a global provider of gaming technology before deciding that ''law was too boring''. She quit law for the finance world (!), managing the operations and developing the company culture of the most active Venture Capitalist Firm in Canada. She has more than 10 years of experience in events management and logistics and in the past 5 years she co-organized, led and ran series of monthly events in Quebec city, Montreal, Toronto and San Francisco’s tech communities. She also spent one year working in sales in an insurance company, one year working in a call center, one year in customer support, customer service and customer management in a real estate company. She worked in the public sector in France, co-owned and managed a seasonal business in the UK for 3 years, worked in business development in the automotive and aerospace industries in India, and volunteered full-time in a NGO in Costa Rica in women’s rights, refugees and migrants.
She loves to travel, eat and get out of her comfort zone.
