ChefSteps CS10001 vs CS20001 Joule Sous Vide Machines
Do you love eating steak? If yes, you surely know the color, texture and doneness you love. But
cooking the perfect steak can be a hassle. Often, you would end up ordering a steak from your
favorite restaurant. But, what if you can prepare and cook steak right at your home? All you
need is a dependable sous vide machine. With a sous vide, you can just set a pot of water to
the right time and temperature. Within a few minutes, you can get that perfect steak. Sous vide
is becoming more popular among home cooks, but the truth is, for several decades, top chefs
have been using this method of cooking. It was kept within the innermost circles of chefs in
France. But in the last few years, sous vide method has been introduced to the public and it was
received with enthusiasm.
You do not need to be a rocket scientist to learn how to use a sous vide. It’s a very simple
method that can easily be used at home to improve your favorite meals, remove unnecessary
stress from cooking. You might fret over and check if the steak is getting the right doneness.
With a sous vide machine, you can focus on more creative cooking like coming up with a
delicious dessert or a new sauce. You can say goodbye to overcooking. It is easy to fall in love
with sous vide. There are so many things you can cook with a sous vide. You can make
carnitas, crème brulee, fried chicken and smoky ribs.
How does a sous vide work?
Unlike traditional cooking methods, heat flows from a burner into the pan, and then, in to the
food. As a result, you need to take off the pan just in time when cooking because the air in the
oven and the metal in the pan are hotter than your desired temperature. If you take it off too
early, the food will be undercooked. If you cook too long, it can overcook or worst it can get
burned. But if you cook with water, just like the technology designed for sous vide, you can raise
the temperature just at the right degree to get the food done. If the food is cooked, you can take
it out. But if you want to eat it later, you can let it rest inside the sous vide and eat when ready.
You can stop always looking back at your stove or oven to check if the food is cooked.
You can now have more time to relax and get back to the sous vide when you are ready to eat.
The foods are surely cooked to perfection and you will have a great feast waiting for you. Today,
we will review two models of the Joule series: ChefSteps CS10001 vs CS20001 Joule Sous

Pros
Both ChefSteps models are lightweight and easy to carry, just like a pepper grinder. You can
carry it in your bag and bring it anywhere. It does not require much space so it’s very easy to
keep when not in use. Both products have functional and minimalist design. Most buyers want
its design. The pretty, soft white polycarbonate and stainless steel with a fun orange rubber foot
that’s magnetized is so sleek you would not think it is a cooking device. There’s only 1 small
indicator light and just one button (the stainless steel top that you can push down.) It’s beautiful,
simple. All the detailed functionality is controlled by the Joule app.
The magnetic orange rubber foot is genius. No need to clip it to the side of the pot. The unit will
stand by itself because the rubber keeps it from slipping, the magnet will stick to bottom of
induction friendly pots.
Con
For the size and weight – really, none. Lighter and smaller is better. The only drawback with the
hardware design of Joule is that the power cord is not long enough. You will be limited to
connecting it in a nearby socket.
Either you choose, you will get a good buy.
