For the intern to be able to formulate proper PT impression & diagnosis of cases with orthopedic musculoskeletal sports related injuries
Facilitate the students’ clinical reasoning by stating the critical relevance of having an accurate diagnosis towards having an effective treatment plan
-Lectures regarding causative factors of the common musculoskeletal sports related injuries specific to each body region
-discussion of the clinical manifestation of related musculoskeletal cases
Impart key subjective & physical findings that will help with differential diagnosis of common acute/chronic orthopedic musculoskeletal sports related conditions
-Review basic anatomy & kinesiology of each body part
-Participate actively during lectures and discussion of the different musculoskeletal sports related conditions
-Pre lecture examinations to review the students of basic anatomy & kinesiology
-Observe the students if they are able to participate & follow during lectures & group discussions
-Post lecture examinations
Identify and perform correctly the appropriate assessment and evaluation procedures pertinent to patients’ case
Teach the students important skills to choose significant evaluation procedure should only be done & to a patient
-Lectures which include tests that are considered more accurate to indicate a specific injury
-mini group discussions on how to perform treatment directed tests
-Explain to the students the rationale behind screening these significant evaluation procedures
-Demonstrate and teach the students how to perform these tests properly & with ease
-Review basic evaluation procedures and rationale behind them
-Participate actively during discussions, lectures and demonstration of different evaluation procedures to be done on patients
-Post lecture examinations
-Return demonstration
To be able to teach the interns how to instruct, check and give feedback to patients while doing specific exercises
Train the interns to always make sure prescribed exercises are done in correct form so as to achieve expected and optimal results
-Orientation and demonstration of specific exercises to be used by the patients
-Mini group discussions regarding basic exercises commonly used by patients with sports related musculoskeletal injuries
-Teach to the students proper exercise checkouts
-Demonstrate & teach interns how and when to give different levels of feedback to patients performing their exercise
-Participate in lectures and group discussions
-Ask questions or return demonstration of basic exercises they will be teaching their patients
-Practical examinations
-Return demonstrations
-For the interns to be able to practice treatment planning of patients with orthopedic musculoskeletal sports related injuries
-To teach the interns the important principles of sports rehabilitation and devising an effective treatment plan
-Lectures covering specific exercises frequently given to patients with specific sports related conditions
-State the different principles of sports rehabilitation
-Explain the rationale behind the treatment techniques done
-Review basic principles of rehabilitation
-Participate in lectures and discussions of sports related musculoskeletal conditions
-Participate in the construction and implementation of a treatment program
-Post evaluation exams
