This included ensuring that the inspections went smoothly, ensuring that the clients were satisfied at all stages in the process, solving the problems that arose both during and after the inspections, and constantly communicating with both the property owners, loss adjusters and insurance companies to reach a settlement. My short term remote job with Finance District required me to be adaptive, work to deadlines and think analytically to find solutions to many different problems which arose during the finance application and acceptance process. Sales & Communication In my role for Crawford and Company I was the primary point of contact between our clients (the insurance companies), the customer, and the insurance assessor. I was required to provide assistance and updates to all parties and solve a wide range of complex insurance problems which arose in the claim assessment process. This experience helped me develop excellent professional communication and problem-solving skills. For Finance District I was the primary point of contact between the loan applicant and the relevant lending partners. This required me to be adaptive and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of different backgrounds. As a freelance teacher and translator in Lima I gained valuable sales skills and experience which are applicable in many different industries. In a highly competitive industry, being able to sell my skills and services effectively was essential to success. SEO and Online Marketing Successfully completed ‘The Complete Digital Marketing Course’ and ‘Social Marketing Mastery Bundle’, two courses highly recommended by CNN. Applied this knowledge to launch 1-Dia.com, a Shopify based Spanish language online deals website which offers new products sourced from around the globe at discounted prices each day at midday. Teamwork and Remote Working Worked remotely as part of an international team for Finance District and have worked remotely and independently on a variety of different freelance projects, particularly in translation and teaching. This experience has helped me become independent and develop excellent personal management skills. As a part of a dedicated team set up in 2013 to assess and settle more than 4,000 insurance claims following the Christchurch earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, I learned how to work closely with others in a team environment to effectively achieve common goals and targets. Other Relevant Skills For my Science degree I successfully completed many papers in a wide range of different topics including Economics, Management, Finance and Marketing. This gives me a background in a wide range of subjects which is useful in many different jobs and industries. I am highly competent with using computers and technology and have experience in all of the essential programs and tools for remote work such as Microsoft Office, Gsuite products, Trello, and more. I am working on this project in my free time continue to study these topics and improve my skills in these areas. February 2018 – March 2018 Finance Broker for Finance District (New Zealand) Acted as the broker and primary point of contact between the loan applicants and the finance companies, responding to all queries and solving problems that arose during the loan application and confirmation process. The position was a short-term position to assist in clearing a large backlog of loan applications which had built up following the busy period prior to Christmas. Worked as part of a remote team with employees in several different countries around the world. June 2016 – December 2017 Editor, Translator and English Teacher for Advance Forward, Wall Street English and American English (Lima, Peru) Provided technical translation, editing and proofreading services. Taught a wide range of different classes including lessons of grammar, conversation classes, TOEFL preparation lessons, and special lessons tailored to the specific needs of the student. Developed excellent time management and organizational skills working part time for 3 companies simultaneously. 2013 – 2015 Claims Administrator and Loss Adjustor for Crawford and Company Responsible for a variety of different tasks including assessing insurance claims, quality control of outgoing property inspection reports, assisting with the organization and management of the team of Loss Adjustors, and communicating with both the insured clients and the insurance companies to find suitable outcomes for insurance claims following the Canterbury earthquakes in 2010 and 2011. Provided legal opinions in a variety of areas with a focus on contract and insurance law. This job helped me develop good organizational and time management skills and helped me become confident in dealing with people in a variety of different situations. Interests: I love to travel, meet new people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, learn languages, and live in a variety of new and interesting places. Working remotely allows me to pursue these interests in as it gives me the freedom to choose where in the world I want to work. I enjoy playing many different sports such as tennis, cricket and squash. I also love to ski and hike and be in the outdoors and have travelled extensively doing exactly this.
