I was hired to support a long-term, multi-million dollar project implementing a student information system that required in-depth knowledge of the application and school business processes. After completion of the project I learned both the front and back ends of several learning management systems and began performing configuration tasks and conducting training. I most recently developed expertise in several core subject area content programs and executed teacher professional development sessions. Global Scholar • Bellevue, WA 2010 – 2012 Education Analyst Global Scholar was an operating unit of Scantron based in Bellevue, Washington that developed, manufactured, licensed, and supported a wide range of products and services related to education. I was initially employed as a data conversion specialist but once management learned about my application expertise I was moved into the professional services department where I excelled at training not only customers but also colleagues on all aspects of the student management system we supported. My talent for communicating naturally with customers at all levels of technical expertise allowed me to work on some very high profile, complex projects. My favorite responsibility during this employment period was working with teachers and students who were involved in virtual high school classes. RINET • North Kingstown, RI 2006 - 2009 SIS Project Manager The management and staff of the Rhode Island Network for Educational Technology consortium were impressed with me while I worked with them on several student information system implementations so they offered me a position. This was a unique experience because it positioned me to collaborate as a customer instead of a vendor. I facilitated user group meetings in which problems both unique and shared were resolved collaboratively and collectively as a group. The help desk/training team I managed was top-notch and well respected by the Rhode Island school districts we supported. MAXIMUS • Mobile, AL 2001 - 2006 Implementation Specialist MAXIMUS is a global company that provides health and human services to communities around the world. My relationship with MAXIMUS started when my previous employer began reselling a student information system MAXIMUS had recently acquired. I accepted employment with MAXIMUS along with several colleagues and together we created a unified, customer focused support and training team in the Sacramento, CA office. I played a key role in informing the development team on customer requirements that enhanced the application and positively affected future sales. McAleer Computer Associates, Inc. • Mobile, AL 1996 – 2001 Student Information Project Coordinator McAleer Computer Associates Inc. was a local company specializing in school district budgetary accounting and payroll systems but also entered the resell arena with student information systems (SIS) and POS for school cafeterias. My first assignment was to write data conversion programs for the finance applications but I quickly progressed to leading a team responsible for all aspects of the SIS and POS system implementations. One of the most challenging tasks I completed was to create an Access database and write queries to update customer data in the SIS program.
