When your ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesterone (the primary hormones needed for a
woman’s fertility) for over a year, it’s safe to assume that menopause has kicked in. This period marks
the end of your menstrual cycle and of your fertility.

why is that important?
As you approach your mid-forties (sometimes it might be earlier, or even later than that), your body
starts preparing for menopause. Your hormone levels are all over the place and you start to
experience things like hot flashes, night sweats, low libido or irregular periods.
This marks a period called perimenopause - that’s a scientific term for the early symptoms of
