Nsikak John

I’m a talented graphic designer and product designer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. From an early age, I had a passion for art and design, and I knew that I would pursue a career in a creative field. 

Although I later went on to study Civil Engineering due to the pressure from my parents, I was still very involved in a lot of design endeavors while at the university. I landed my first job at a small design and advertising firm in Port Harcourt, where I gained valuable experience working on branding and marketing campaigns for various clients. I quickly developed a reputation for my innovative and eye-catching designs, and soon I got approached by larger organizations to work on more complex projects like AKCAROLSFEST in Uyo, Nigeria.

Over the years, I have honed my skills as both a graphic designer and a product designer, specializing in creating cohesive and visually striking designs across a variety of mediums. I have worked on everything from branding and advertising campaigns to editorial designs and neon signage, user research, and user interface designs.

I am known for my ability to understand a problem, conduct research and test my ideas while translating them into designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. I am highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, HTML, and CSS, and have experience working with a range of software programs and tools to bring my designs to life.

In addition to my design work, I am passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and emerging tech. I also organize and attend subject-focused conversations focused on unearthing local voices across diverse areas. In 2016, I organized a TEDx event in my city - TEDxUyo. 

One of my most notable accomplishments was my work on a State flag design in Nigeria. I was tasked with creating a symbol that represents the people, ideals, and heritage of Akwa Ibom, a coastal oil-rich state in southern Nigeria. My flag design was a hit as it has helped direct the government branding effort while also upholding a deep sense of identity for the people of Akwa Ibom.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring my city's vibrant arts scene and spending time with my family and friends. 

With this wealth of experience and passion for design, I’ll definitely be making an impact in the industry for many years to come.
