Abigail Dizon

I graduated with Latin honors from University of the Philippines (Diliman) and took up Bachelor of Science in Statistics from 2012 to 2016. I am also currently taking up Master of Science in Computer Science. With this combination of disciplines, I am fully equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for Data Science and Advanced Analytics.

I am deeply into programming, and in the present, I am very much familiar with R, Python, SQL, SAS, SPSS, EViews, and Stata. I have also used CSS, HTML and JavaScript multiple times, but not with advanced knowledge of these languages. But with the graduate degree I am currently taking, I am expecting to be more and more fluent in these languages, as well as other programming tools available.

In my current employer, I am a Risk Analytics Officer in the Credit Risk Modelling Team. My daily work requires in-depth knowledge and skills in Statistics and Data Science. As such, I am still very familiar with the concepts and theories necessary for Data Science and Advanced Analytics. I am also taking up online courses along with my work to help me extend my knowledge in Data Science and Statistics.

My Excel skills are also advanced, with ability of using its Macro-Enabled property. I have already developed a solution for the company, necessary for our computation of reserves for booking, and computation of Expected Credit Loss for regulatory requirements to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). I have ongoing projects focusing on Predictive Modelling and Software Development.

With all my professional experience, and for those that are yet to come, I can assure that my knowledge and skills are highly suitable to meet the requirements expected of a Data Scientist and/or an Analyst.

Learning from experience as well, I have seen the desired and necessary characteristics of a Data Scientist and/or Analyst to fully fulfill all requirements and expectations of the job. As it always takes the right person to have the data analyzed in an objective manner, I have mastered most, if not all, of the approaches needed and characteristics required to become a committed and trusted person for this role.
