B. Overview
My academic and professional careers have been basically focused in mathematics, computer science and
language. These three apparently different fields united in the same track when I discovered the mathematical
approach to languages which motivated me to start a PhD research in automata theory at the Dresden
University of Technology in Dresden, Germany. My thesis is under completion. I have performed several
activities related to mathematics/computer science research and teaching as well as activities related to
language such as language teaching, translation, interpretation, transcription, proofreading and academic
writing. My mother language is Brazilian Portuguese. My academic and business experience has given me
solid knowledge of English, German and Japanese. I owned a company in Japan for 8 years directing more
than 10 people. This experience gave me very good organizational skills. In Japan I have worked with AI
projects for Toyota Motors using Python, as well as with protocols LIN / CAN for embedded systems using
C language for networks inside automobiles at DENSO. Also, I extensively worked with system specification,
code checking, coding analysis and code performance improvement. More recently, I have worked with
research on drones, particularly, drones in GPS-denied environments.
C. Mindset
At the same time that I have worked with translations, among other activities, I have also worked with
information technology (IT). I have basically the same mindset for both activities: first, I am extremely careful
and diligent while working. I confirm and double-check everything. The idea is to have a “zero-mistake
performance” or something very close to it. I am very responsive and reliable also in terms of communication
because I think that documentation of communication is very important to avoid misunderstandings, especially
in times of remote work. I am very experienced with remote work and team collaboration. I have good humor,
I am also very easy to approach and talk with.
