From the plugs in the wall, to the user facing front-end, and all the hardware and software in between: I embody the meaning of "full stack developer". I've helped scale systems from 20 users to 20 million users, championed massive database migrations, helped port apps from one language to another, built & documented REST APIs, created continuous-integration workflows, and retooled more than a few developer tool-chains (I'm a big dev-ops fan). Backend or Frontend: I love tackling the big problems.

While I am proficient in many languages, JavaScript is my current focus. I've been developing with Node.js since version 0.4 (2011), and keeping up with the front-end trends for even longer (React.js through the Next.js framework is my current favourite frontend flavour).

Over the years I've worked with many other languages in large-scale systems: Python, PHP, a little with Ruby and even several forms of Java. In addition I'm able to tune a wide variety of servers and operating systems. I am platform and database agnostic and always try to find the best tool for the job.

I've even dabbled in hardware design and many IoT platforms. (Especially NFC and low-power bluetooth beacon technologies).
