About

I am a duo-citizen of Canada/Australia that plans to live to be 147 years old, creating 'spaces' for people to be impactful. My first ever job was in 'recruitment' working for Manpower Temporary Agency in Calgary, Alberta. My intent was to 'temp' to gain experience, and on application they hired me on the spot to Account Manage internal clients including Canada Post, Xerox, Northern Telecom, Coca-cola, and more. I LOVED getting to know every operational need within the company and working to match office, labour and technical staff to fit the culture and on-the-job needs. Early roles in sports management included: i) Director of Logistics for the Alberta Winter Games - creating the space for 1,500 athletes while integrating 10 committee needs including accommodation, transportation, communication, volunteer; ii) General Manager Western Australia Softball Association, where I enrolled partners to build up and support a trending operating deficit to avoid organizational demise, iii) Project Manager Western Australia Department of Sport and Recreation, where I am most proud of project leading the development & implementation of the State Sporting Facilities Plan, a breakthrough 10-year plan for sports infrastructure investment. I was the Business Development Manager for the Perth International Arts Festival, working on partnerships, sponsorships, VIP event logistics, creating the space for collaboration between business and creative sectors. I worked on $1.5 million worth of sponsor investments and initiated the 'Directors Circle', an innovative way to engage community and build more intimate relationships between stakeholders. And, then came the era of self-employment after relocating back to Canada to raise a family. We created the Painted Turtle Guesthouse by transforming 2 commercial buildings downtown Nanaimo on Vancouver Island into a thriving 20-room international hostel serving 10,000+ international guests over 10 years, all while contributing to revitalizing downtown. After selling those buildings & business, I Co-Founded The Network Hub Nanaimo, a coworking space to bring together business decision makers & entrepreneurs into a shared workspace to increase productivity, collaboration, communication with the purpose of creating the space for exponential community impact. To accelerate networking, public relations and impact of the amazing people I am in contact with, I also have vested interest in Canada's Podcast, Canada's #1 podcast for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs as the BC Host.
