a. Duties and responsibilities
-Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair servo valves.
-Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
-Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers, and indicating micrometres to obtain proper assembly-build requirement.
-Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
-Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic servo valves using necessary hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools.
-Diagnose common test failures and recommends or perform rework to correct discrepancies.
-Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
-Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal.
-Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures.
-Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment, and perform tests to validate the acceptance of model to current test requirements.
