Currently, I am a health sanitarian for the State of Louisiana's Department of Health. I am always seeking contract based, remote medical writing roles, as I am also a medical writer. My emphasis is on medical marketing.
Previously, I worked with a group of oral and maxillofacial surgeons as a surgical implant treatment coordinator and clinical operations manager. In conjunction with this role, I also served as a adjunction microbiology instructor at a local community college.
I have worked full time in non-clinical healthcare since 2009, with two of those years in multi-practice management. Coursework in graduate school included histology, bacterial biofilms, field biology research methods, biomolecular research methods, immunology, comparative physiology, infectious diseases epidemiology, and pathogenic bacteriology. I am knowledgable of protocol in the biomolecular laboratory setting.
Previous work experience includes two years of multi-provider practice management in Lafayette, LA. I have been exposed to breast surgery, urogynecology, breast radiology, internal medicine, oncology, and pediatrics.
In 2012 while completing my graduate studies at ULM, I was a unit assistant in a very busy medsurge unit at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. I constantly interacted with physicians and mid-level providers of all specialties, case managers, social workers, radiological technologists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, laboratory technicians, medical technologists, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and unit secretaries with daily situations. I am very proficient with Cerner.
Leisure activities include travel, hiking, kayaking, fitness, and wine!
