About

Hi! My name is Benjamin. I'm a web developer with a background in acting, which means I can make readable HTML, CSS, and javascript, AND grasp why you choose each design for your products. Storytelling is at the heart of every discipline, especially web dev.

To show my skills in HTML, CSS, and javascript, I would point you toward my Onitama project -  https://benpapac.github.io/Onitama/

The code for this project is still quite a mess - it was literally the first software I built myself - but it shows you a simple MVP that I created. I plan to go back and clean the code, too.

To see a current javascript project with readable code, you should look at www.lgmanagement.org

This React web app features simple, beautiful UX/UI features, as well as very simple HTML and readable javascript. Once I complete the API for this project, I intend to rework my CSS to make it more readable.

While at General Assembly, I was team leader for a project. I focused on making sure everyone around me learned, and made progress, and kept communication open and optimistic. We had a lot of beginners, so we had to scrap a lot of our stretch goals in order to make our MVP work by the deadline. That was also an important lesson: undersell, over deliver. Focus on the core of the project first, before building out. And always treat teammates with respect, and approach their ideas with curiosity, regardless of their experience level.

I work well in teams, I'm comfortable in HTML, CSS, javascript and python, and I know how to build a fast MVP on a deadline. I'm excited to start a creative relationship with you, and I look forward to our first interview.
