ST MAARTEN 12 METRE ENTERPRISES NV 2012 – 2018 GENERAL MANAGER / MANAGING DIRECTOR Led operations pertaining to the operation of a fleet of historic America’s Cup racing yachts on which is based one of the most unique tour businesses in the Caribbean. The company serves both the St Maarten tourism sector and the North American corporate incentive industry in the north eastern Caribbean and involves fleet, retail and hospitality operations.  Delivered Web Platform including online store, live ticket booking engine and payment processing system which generated an 80% increase full margin ticket sales direct to customer in first three months while turning order to extremely cash positive (pay in advance in full).  Executed a four year rebuild of the fleet, ensuring sustainability of both critical assets and business while significantly reducing long term operating costs.  Introduced standardization, PPM and reverse engineering techniques together with in house manufacturing of discontinued parts.  Launched a new three year rolling planned maintenance program with international suppliers that generated a significant increase in asset availability and achieving zero lost ticket breakdowns.  Implemented a new operating schedule allowing the business to deliver a 25% increase in carrying capacity from the existing asset base.  Pioneered successful new lines of business with resort partners generating a new and significant low season income. ALSTOM POWER DIVISION 2004 – 2010 BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER (2008 – 2010) Held several roles for this a multi-national engineering conglomerate with around 80,000 employees within its global footprint, serving the Engineering, Naval Construction, Nuclear Engineering and Transport markets. Promoted to Unit Manager for the Rugby Large Steam Turbine Factory, managing over $50M US at cost price through the manufacture and service of bespoke large steam turbines and power equipment for Civil, Navy and Nuclear markets. Directed P&L, Operations, Corporate Governance and Compliance, Business Strategy, Project Management, Sales, Investment Strategy, Health & Safety.  Led the strategic shift of the business to recognize a new corporate environment, including recruiting new management team, introducing factory-wide key project critical path focus and reintroduction of apprentice scheme.  Negotiated and settled outstanding Union claims.  Introduced significant change to the philosophy of the unit while growing the business through the introduction of new product lines and technologies.  Oversaw 240 direct reports and as well as shared service elements, leading one of the most flexible, capable and responsive units in the sector, which has subsequently been purchased by General Electric. COMMERCIAL (OPERATIONS) MANAGER (2005 – 2008) Following a reorganization in the autumn of 2005, took over responsibility for all commercial functions including project management, logistics, planning, master materials planning, Sales & Tendering.  Led restructuring of the Commercial Department to better reflect the needs of new markets and the business models required for their development. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (2004 – 2005) Hired as Business Development Manager for Rugby Steam Turbine Manufacturing & Service Plant. Recruited to formulate and implement sales, product and manufacturing strategies to replace work streams that had been relocated overseas for strategic reasons.  Steered new markets to represent nearly 50% of the business and enabled unit to physically grow for the first time in many years while saving 250+ jobs.
