Cristina Magalhães

I'm a professionally-trained Proofreader of English. I have attended the Publishing Training Centre's Basic Proofreading course which I have completed with Merit and CIEP's Proofreading Progress where I achieved a mark of 8,7/10.

In order to gain real world experience as a Proofreader, I have applied for CIEP's mentoring scheme at the end of which I was given a mark of 10/10. This gave me the opportunity to deal with a great variety of texts and with different types of clients and their demands.

Skills:

• Proofreading onscreen and on paper;
• Proficiency in the use of BSI symbols;
• Advanced knowledge of Ms Word, including track changes;
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and other equivalent software, including comment tools.
• I specialize in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences and I also work with business related documentation. 

Due to my experience of several years as a Document Controller I can also provide the following services:

• Creation of a style guide for documentation;
• Design of forms in Word or .pdf format;
• Creation of Word templates for different types of documentation;
• Formatting of documents.
