I began my working career as an engineer, working for 3 years as a research technician and then 2 years as a technical writer for a turn key systems manufacturer. Concurrently, I followed a dream to become a commercial pilot, leading to a job as a bush pilot in Africa, followed by charter, contract, and scheduled airline work. Alongside this I completed flight training, testing, and teachning soft courses such as multi-crew co-ordination. My passion for aviation safety and standards was enhanced by work as a safety and quality manager during time on the ground with breast cancer. I have published several aviation text books for pilots. As a hobby I write children's fiction and non-fiction. Both writing tasks have led to the creation of successful websites which I manage. Currently due to a young family I've retired from my flying days to pursue online work, since it provides me flexibility and freedom. My key skills are writing, a skill I have honed throughout my career in aviation and engineering. I have always been singled out to perform writing tasks in any company I have worked for. My best writing is in the technical field, and I particularly enjoy writing technical content for non technical people, however I also love writing for young children.
