About

I have been a Technical Training Manager serving the oil & gas, manufacturing, and operations industries for 5 years and worked in the adult oil and gas learning and development role for 12 years total.

I moved from the industry work to training in 2008 and was asked by my company to build a technician training program for the field service team. Since then I have been instrumental, as a lead or the manager of the department, in building two entire training programs and remodeling or expanding three programs rich with the latest learning science and instructional design. This also includes creating a competency model and career progression plans. Some of the companies in my portfolio are: Cameron Drilling, Gem Mobile Treatment Service, GE Electric Engineering Master’s program at Georgia Tech, and Cameron Process Systems.

Over the years I have developed many skills, giving me confidence that I can connect on an executive level, or work with the Subject Matter Experts and engineers, and with the technicians.  My teams have designed the curriculum and training as well as delivered it to the technicians internationally with audiences from or in Africa, Middle East, Europe, and Asia. I have been enriched because of my connections with each of these cultures.

I have mastered the software needed to design and develop a blended training program including E-Leaning, instructor led classroom, hands on experience, and a follow up with six months of on the job experience. Much of the software I have used include Articulate Storyline, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Gimp, Inkscape, Pencil 2D, and KdenLive.

At Cameron I had my greatest success story. My team had just developed the first ever internal training on Desalters and Dehydrators. We worked closely with engineering and the senior most technician to develop the content. Then we delivered the training to the subject matter experts to verify and make one last edit. On the second course of onboarding new employees, we had one person who had mechanical experience but no background in process, or oil and gas equipment. After the week long course he was to fly to Egypt and meet a lead technician to install and commission seven units. Something happened and the lead did not make it. The new technician used our training manuals and a phoneline to the subject matter experts. He led the team of contract employees and performed seven installs and commissioning’s.
