Dean Savovic

My name is Dean Savović and I am experienced MSSQL database developer and administrator working in this field for more than 20 years. My passion is performance tuning and optimization of MSSQL databases, but I am also very comfortable with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS. Next to performance tuning I love working on database design and modeling projects. In the last few years, I started working with Azure SQL databases and Azure Managed Instances. With Project Management Professional certificate (since 2005) I started managing projects and small and medium sized database developer teams.

My greatest professional accomplishment is a project of developing Betting solution for a Croatian betting company. My responsibilities on this project were project management, leading a team of database and software developers and design and modeling of database solution. Project was finished in 1 year with 15 developers, 4 of which were database developers. After go live solution was used by thousands of users with hundreds of thousand transactions each month.

I love reading blogs and articles about SQL Server and learning something new about this engine. I am married and father of two beautiful children that make my life a happy place. When I am not working I take my younger kid to handball practice sessions or play chess online.
