Dilip Venkateswaran

I am Dilip, a research-oriented individual with considerable experience in the editorial and communications field. I get satisfaction from taking up a variety of roles (that might fall into different professional categories), and this can be observed in my resume. Personally, I believe that this interest in wearing more than a single pair of shoes, so to speak, fosters self-discipline in me. I'm strongly driven by a need to see the outcome and consequence of my work, which results in me searching for standards to keep up with and challenges to take upon. This is how I would categorize my work ethic. In fact, my venture into the editorial field follows this behavior of mine. Having chosen a design-oriented major in university (Visual Communications), I took up freelancing positions with a few local editorial firms as a copyeditor/writer and gained a significant amount of experience handling fiction and non-fiction books. This is around the time when I understood the process of quality assurance, as I assisted and guided the in-house QA teams of the said firms (Lapiz Digitals, Integra Software Services, etc.) to increase the final output quality to over 97%, from a meagre 63%. In 2016, I became a consultant to my mentor's start up business, Vyaakarna. This is where I began exploring the 'entrepreneurial spirit', characterized by a lack of specific work titles. Here, I specialized in business communication and management, having learned these out of necessity. At this point of my career, I wish to partake in something with an international scale and prove myself worthy.
