Dr Kitboklang Nongrum has more than 17 year experience of research and is well equipped with Data
Entry, Data Science, SEO, Data Analyses & Management using Excel, STATISTICA, SPSS, ORIGIN etc. He
has successfully completed trainings in Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System (RS & GIS)
using softwares such as QGIS, DIVA GIS etc. as well as assisting gadgets such as Global Positioning
System (GPS), GoogleEarth, MapSource & MapInfo. He has been actively engaged in research report
writing, grant writing for the host institution, developing synopses for PG & PhD students. He has
been actively facilitating PhD course work on Research Design & Methodologies apart from presenting
papers in Conferences. He served as the Project Coordinator focussing on establishing a Botanical
Garden for 2 years since 2019. He is a member of the Khasi Traditional Medicine Commission (KTMC),
KHADC, Meghalaya to prepare research proposals, annual reports and implement all activities &
programs as referred to in the KHAD (Promotion and Protection of Khasi Traditional Medicine) Act,
2011. He was instrumental in drafting the KHAD (Promotion and Protection of Khasi Traditional
Medicine) Rules, 2013. He has 2 PhD students registered under his supervision investigating on
traditional agricultural knowledge of indigenous rice varieties used by the Garos and documentation
of the dying Thevbo weaving practices of the Nagas through traditional research methods as well as
videography and Co-Supervisor to many PhD scholars. He has been an expert in Research programs to
evaluate the best Research Dissertation of the PG students and have evaluated many Synopses of the
PhD students for recommendations to the PhD & Research Committee of the host institutions.
