Enock Ruziga

I am a Licensed Architect with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, who works at Rwanda Housing Authority, which has shaped me for the last 3 years to deal with Emergence Situations due to the exposure and rigorous tasks undertaken at the Institute.

Prior to working for RHA, I freelanced for 2 years after graduation, and also co-found a Non-profit Humanitarian Collaborative Practice called SAWA - Socially Active Workshop Architecture (https://sawa-architecture.org/) with a British Architect named Edward Dale Harris. Which aims at promoting post-disaster responsive designs and permaculture architecture that allows a society to recover smoothly after a calamity has hit. The organization also played an important role in the Rwanda Reconciliation Journey in collaboration with REACH-Rwanda Charity and Rwanda Prison Fellowship for released Genocide convicts to make amends with their victims through architecture in which I also volunteered. Whereby, SAWA designed houses for the victims and together with REACH donations, the convicts agree to build the house on site at the victim's home as a restoration of their houses burnt during Genocide. Which we tagged Restorative Justice. Also did a couple of private clients' jobs in Interior and Graphics Design ever since acquiring my Degree through Private Consultancy.

All this, shaped my Architectural and Graphic Design skills further towards proactive and rapid intuition to respond to an Emergency of any sort architecturally. Which certainly makes me prepared and passionate to undertake any task and contribute my part in the name of making the world/company even better, home and abroad if considered.
