Hassan Ismail

My name is Hassan Ismail, and I am a motivated and dedicated individual with a strong background in finance and business administration. Throughout my academic journey and professional experiences, I have acquired a diverse skill set that includes financial analysis, project management, data analytics, and business valuation.

I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Business Data Analytics from West Virginia University. During my time at university, I undertook coursework that provided me with a solid foundation in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, financial data analytics, and business valuation. These courses equipped me with the knowledge and skills to analyze complex financial data, develop financial models, and make informed business decisions.

In terms of technical skills, I have obtained certifications such as the CFA Level I Candidate and the CFI Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst FMVA. I am also proficient in using tools and software like Bloomberg Terminal, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word), Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI.

I have gained practical experience through various internships and professional roles. As a Business Analyst and Project Management Trainee at Wiley Edge, I contributed to project development and implementation, employing project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall. I monitored project progress, identified risks and issues, and proposed proactive solutions using VBA, Excel, and SQL.

During my internship at LabCorp as a Financial Data Analyst, I analyzed complex financial data sets using Excel, SQL, and Python. I effectively communicated my findings to stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions. I also supported the director and internal auditor in managing projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Additionally, I worked as a Financial Analyst Intern at Orascom Development, where I developed a robust financial model to assess the cost-effectiveness of a marketing campaign. I also assisted in preparing financial statements and credit reports using financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and forecasting methods.

I have also worked on notable projects that have showcased my analytical and problem-solving skills. In my Mergers & Acquisitions course, I conducted a comprehensive report on the historic acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, utilizing financial formulas and models to perform a thorough financial analysis and valuation. In my Data Mining & Visualization course, I used R for statistical analysis and Tableau for data visualization to analyze a historical salary dataset and identify key determinants of salary.

Outside of academics and work, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities. As the President of the WVU International Student Organization, I successfully established club goals, organized inclusive events, and expanded membership by 287%. I have also served as the Treasurer of the WVU Squash Club, where I managed the organization's budget and reported finances.
