Heather Martens

I am a professional visual artist, writer and content producer. I have years of experience in content creation in a variety of fields. I have a results-driven attitude and excellent problem-solving skills, as well as a keen eye for detail. I have written blogs, newsletters and copy for web and landing pages and enjoy diving into research when approaching a new subject. I have also designed mascots and caricatures for small and large businesses, as well as taught fine art professionally for nearly eight years. I have a decade of experience as a visual artist and am passionate about what I do. I enjoy painting and drawing and prefer to work within the realms of botanical and figurative studies but my portfolio will show that I have a wide range of artistic skills.

I fully believe in the integrity of the text, and as such, commit always to making sure that anything I am working on has been thoroughly proofread and edited. I am also more than capable of adhering to brand guidelines, as this is such a key part of maintaining a coherent and comprehensive identity in the larger landscape of business and commerce. A ‘house style’ is a house style for a reason. That unity of voice belies a greater strength and integrity within the company.

I also particularly enjoy working collaboratively with others, as I fully believe that not one person has all the answers when it comes to solving problems. Problems are always going to pop up, perhaps some that will need more flexible and creative solutions. Humans are inherently social creatures, and when those needs are met, we tend to give our most engaging and creative works.
