I spent two years of my career working as an AmeriCorps VISTA in High Point, NC focusing on the bridge between food insecurity, healthcare and education. During my second term, I assisted with our annual reports to AmeriCorps and with new VISTA training and was responsible for community education at the Greater High Point Food Alliance (GHPFA). I also successfully managed the GHPFA’s Food Finder App, social media accounts and website. At the GHPFA, I was responsible for maintaining donor relations and volunteer management. I have also participated in two VIDA Volunteer medical trips to Guatemala. In the months leading up to my second trip, I acted as a mentor to new recruits. Lastly, I have experience at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital overhauling their membership program for community events.
I think these examples clearly demonstrate how my professional background fits the desired qualification for this role. But, I also hope they provide a glimpse into my personal interest in helping to make the world a better place for everyone and my dedication toward non-profit organizations that are working on unique projects.
