Jessica Pearson

I am a keen and willing learner, I enjoy being a constant learner as I feel that I have so much to learn and it helps me with my skills at being an educator. Teaching is a passion I have had for many years and worked hard at pursuing. In my first year of teaching experience, I have realised that it comes easy and naturally and that I have a good bond with my learners. I have grown and adapted in so many ways and know that with more experience I will only become better at what I love to do. I enjoy making learning fun as well as relatable, I went through school not really understanding why we were learning concepts but knowing I had to just do them, it has been my goal to allow learners to be individuals in their own knowledge creation and allow them to understand how the knowledge they are learning is going to better them in their futures.  

 I have a BEd degree from Wits University in South Africa with my major subject being English and sub major being South African history. I have experience from Alberton Primary School teaching English to grade 6 learners. I have recently been to China where I taught English as a second Language by using fun and interactive games to encourage learning and learner participation. This experience was great by learning about cultures as well as difficulties experienced by second language learners. It increased my ability to creat fun and safe learning environments for children ensuring interaction in order to allow learners to learn the conversational language through fun. I believe I am very understanding and have the ability to adapt and allow learners to achieve a variety of achievements by incorporating fun learning activities.
