Jo Ellis

I am a Bachelor of Arts (Professional Writing and Communication) graduate with a Graduate Diploma in Media Arts and Production.

I write clearly and concisely with an excellent command of grammar, punctuation and spelling. I am also a highly skilled proofreader with the ability to correct grammatical and spelling errors, interpret editorial mark-up, pay close attention to detail, use appropriate references and work to organisational standards. 

My work experience has required me to write, edit, proofread and layout material for the public sphere in a range of diverse formats including subtitles for news broadcasts, health promotion brochures and reports to stakeholders.

An example of where my written communication skills have been employed is in proposal writing (with a 100% success rate to date). For example in Papua New Guinea I was successful in obtaining a grant from an overseas donor to train 12 young people in digital radio production. This proposal (for US$15,000) was successful although there was no opportunity to meet with the foreign donor (all contact was via email) and there was no prior relationship with the donor.
