Juan De Klerk

I don't have much of a story to tell. I grew up in a small town in the South of Africa. Once I graduated from high school I studied music for 3 years majoring in the bass. Along the way, I picked up a few valuable skills, Social Media Marketing, Time Management, Creative Writing and Teaching to mention a few. Among all these basic level skills, I think that the skills to improvise under pressure, being able to design brands from scratch and the patience required to work with people that want the absolute impossible is the most important. I took these experiences and molded them in a way that can be beneficial to myself and others. After a few difficult years of being in bands and traveling in Africa, I had my eyes set on placing my feet on another continent. Seeing as I had some teaching experience I saved up and made my way to Mainland China where I currently teach English as a second language. This experience has been nothing short of amazing, and the yearning for freedom to travel and live other cultures around the globe has become my driving force. After meeting amazing people from all over with the same drive, I set my sights on becoming a nomad. I soon realized that the nomad community is large and everyone want's a piece of the pie, if not the whole pie. As for myself, all I want is the crumbs, small jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over my head. I've always wanted the big house, nice car and stable 9-5 office job, but as I grow older I find that the most important thing is to have lived and to have lived well. There's something beautiful in the simplicity of this way of life. Being able to do these jobs demands a certain way of adaptation, and I believe that I have that ability to do what is needed within the time frame that is set.
