I really do feel that genuine translation of text requires understanding of the text, and understanding requires having lived in the world and dealt with the physical world and is not just a question of manipulating words.

Spanish - creo que una buena traducción presupone entender el texto, y que a su vez esto presupone haber vivido en el mundo real y no limitarse simplemente a manipular las palabras.

I have lived/worked in countries such as the USA, Canada, Japan, Spain, South Africa and Mexico, and that has given me a wide focus of so many different cultures and helps me do a better job.
