Kenneth Skaggs

One of my favorite projects so far is the LMS web application that I built from scratch for a district of schools. I went into the project as the sole developer without having worked with PHP before. After about a year I created and deployed a fully functional system. Students from over 40 schools were taking tests and teachers were receiving real-time data on the progress of their class.

My personality powerfully integrates my passion for programming and with a purpose, I believe in. I love the blend of artistry, meaning/fulfillment, and science/forensics that exists on a good software project. Well-Designed software is like an elegant machine. Learning the physics of that virtual world and being able to creatively design something that behaves the way that is needed is almost all I need to enjoy working in the field. But when that work is done for something special and meaningful in the world then there's no doubt in my mind that I'm in the right place.
