Academic Project Details (B.E): Title: NOISE REDUCTION USING FUZZY IMAGE FILTERING Language used: Java Software used: JDK 1.5 Duration : 3 months Modules of the project: 1. Mean Filter 2. Median Filter 3. Fuzzy Filter: This is the proposed filter. The above two filters are the existing filters. Project Description: The main objective of the project is to remove impulse noise from a grey-scale image transmitted from source to destination using fuzzy filter. When an image is transmitted from one place to another, the pixels in an image get corrupted due to error in communication channels. The image obtained at the destination is a corrupted image which is called as noise. To resend image again from source to destination is cost-effective and also time consuming. So using fuzzy filter at the destination we can reduce the noise in the image. In this project we are focusing mainly on grey-scale (monochromatic) images. Fuzzy filter implements fuzzy logic.Fuzzy logic is nothing but implementation of simple if then else rules. The two steps carried out in this filtering are: 1. Computing mathematical gradient values of each of the directions. 2. Applying Fuzzy rules for smoothening the image, the image obtained after applying these two steps is a clear image Advantages of Proposed System: 1. Full control of source and target data definitions. 2. The highest quality target data with no data loss. 3. Consistent, accurate, and cost effective results. 4. Efficient utilization of available resources. 5. Support for multiple run-time environments. Applications: This project has its various practical applications in medical, industrial and military areas where monochromatic images are widely used. Academic Project Details (M.Tech): Title: Traffic aware routing protocol for Vanets Language used: c++ Software used: NS-2, MOVE Modules of the project: 1. Setting traffic scenario using SUMO 2. Connecting SUMO and ns2 using MOVE 3. tcl file analysis 4. Routing packets using TAR protocol 5. Calculating the performance metric for TAR protocol Project Description: Our proposed system considers distance, density and direction of vehicles and then selects the route to forward packets. This protocol considers three metrics: i. Distance ii. Density iii. Direction As a result, the proposed protocol has increased the packet delivery ratio and throughput and decreases the end to end delay when compared to existing protocols. Applications: This project has its various practical applications in traffic thus will reduce havoc caused due to road accidents and save lives.
