About

In the year 2000, I was employed at a fishing company here in our city. I was a clerk and encoder. My tasks were to do memos, encode and compute social security numbers and contributions of about 200 plus employees. I was the one who introduced a computerized way of social security contribution since the company has been using the conventional way of encoding numbers and contributions which can be very risky in terms of accuracy. No mistakes are allowed especially that a mistake in the number of a series of 10 digits can mean giving the contribution to another member. I have practiced being keen to detail and to be time conscious as submissions have to be made once a month on or before the given date. I was given the opportunity to finish college in 2004 that led to my resignation from the company. Unfortunately, I became financially incapacitated to support my education since it was the time when my father got sick. I then decided to go back to work, but this time I tried out online writing. A relative invited me to his team where I became one of his writers. I write articles of different word counts, different deadlines and with different sets of instructions. I worked for the team for about a year and later on stopped working to attend to my ailing mother. A year after, after my mother’s passing, I went back to writing and fortunately, my former employer (a relative) readily accepted me to his team and took me in as one of his editors. I also write part time. At present, I am still with the team. I work as a writer, however I wish to widen my horizon and apply for other part time jobs just to learn more and earn at the same time. I have been applying on different job vacancies, however only a few responded. Not all clients offer regular jobs that is why I am still in search of other jobs that can sustain my expenses. I love to learn and one good way to learn is through writing. It has also been my source of income which is why I need to have regular tasks. I believe that my years of experience and the skills that I have, I can definitely land on a job where I can learn and grow and earn well at the same time.
