Liz Heflin

My name is Liz Heflin, and I’ve been a professional writer and editor since 2006. I have a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from the University of Washington, where I graduated magna cum laude. I then received my master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Exeter, where I had the distinction of graduating with merit. I’m also the founder and lead writer of my company, MACE Writing.

I offer a variety of services, including editing, writing, and content marketing. As both a writer and editor, I provide my clients with additional peace of mind because they know they’re getting a well-crafted piece of writing that does not have to go through an additional editing stage. I hold myself to the highest standards of excellence and pride myself on my customer-centric mentality. That means I’m not happy until you’re happy!

With over a decade of experience, I’m able to adapt my style, tone, and approach to whatever the job requires. For all writing projects, I’m happy to provide ghostwriting services or receive a byline, depending on the client’s preference. My versatility and experience mean I’m equally comfortable providing a corporate press release, ghostwriting a children’s book, or editing a blog about professional quilting—all jobs I’ve actually taken!

I am well versed in the Chicago Manual of Style and edit and write according to those rules.

Outside of my career, I’m an avid hiker, reader, cook, and traveler. I am originally from Seattle, but I currently live in Whitefish, Montana. Over the past ten years, I have had the good fortune to visit over forty countries; experience all seven continents; and live in the United States, South Korea, and England. I’m married to a total goofball/love of my life, and it is my greatest ambition on any given day to drink a good cup of tea and pet a dog.
