Lúcia Furtado

My name is Lúcia Furtado, I´m Portuguese, 38 years old, happily married and mother of 2 loving boys. I have over 15 years working experience, mainly in the digital marketing, public relations and event management field in different sectors. I really love to communicate and I´m very social person. Let me tell you a little bit more about myself. 

I have a degree in Media Studies from ISCSP (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa). After college, I decided to take a Marketing and Event Management Course to further enrich my education and gain working experience as this one year course provided me with several working experiences in the management of a diversity of events. 

In 2007, I decided to go abroad and experience a different culture and lifestyle and so, an opportunity to go to Ireland came up, and I embraced the experience without any fears. It was indeed a rewarding and fulfilling experience, not only did I make svereal new friends from all over the world, got to visit the country which is rather beautiful and special, but also, and most importantly, I was able to benefit from an enriching and diverse working experience in the Retail/Management Sector (from the entertaining field to high fashion sector). Although this adventure was most gratifying, after almost a year of harsh climate and homesick feelings, I decided to return to sunny Portugal and pursue a career in the Media/Marketing Sector for which I had been preparing in the previous years.

Because I have always liked Sports and possess the knowledge of different languages (English, French, Spanish and very basic (almost forgotten) German) an opportunity came up to work as a Marketing/Public Relations Manager for the Portuguese Judo Federation. I worked for this public institution for 7 years and throughout that time I have gained tremendous experience in event planning, in establishing protocols with foreign entities and promotion of the Sport itself. Also, social media was something new back then and so to keep with the trends I invested some of my time in learning about it and so I took a few digital marketing courses. So, after leaving the Federation I immediately embraced a new project in the thriving sector in Portugal -Tourism - which was for me an excellent opportunity to prove myself and again learn a new "working philosophy". I became the Marketing and Bookings Manager of be@home, a vacation rental company, an e-commerce dedicated to providing unique stays and experiences to customers in Portugal.

After 5 years working in this company, I am still eager to find a new opportunity to expand my horizons and grow professionally so when I saw your advert I immediately knew it could be a very interesting career opportunity to work in such a prestigious company.

Furthermore, I am a fast learner, highly motivated individual with a good appearance and natural willingness and friendliness. I believe I can contribute with my creativity and dynamics to success of a company and become a valuable asset.
