My name is Luis Rodriguez and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I went to school and University. Ever since I was a child my mother was smart enough to send me to weekly private English lessons, where I was introduced to the foundations of the language from my dedicated teachers.
Right after graduating from University with a degree in Communications, I moved to Toronto, Canada to pursue a career in advertising. First I enrolled at Humber College for a Post Graduate Program in Advertising Copywriting. As a Creative Writer working for over 3 years in different Advertising Agencies, I would write, present and produce ideas for some of the best brands in the country.
I got hired at JWT where I worked on Tim Hortons across all mediums and was fortunate enough to write and produce a TV Spot with Canada´s Hockey Captain Sidney Crosby. I also worked on Walmart, producing a spot that was shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which was a great experience.
After JWT I worked as a freelancer at several agencies in the Canadian capital, mainly at Grip Limited. Then I moved back to my hometown of Caracas and founded Misterfrik, an advertising agency, and Animal Tropikal, a clothing brand, companies that allowed me to further explore my entrepreneurial and creative skills.
Misterfrik is all about brand development. If someone wanted to start a company, they came to us so we could help them with the name, logo, visual guidelines, brand mantra, vision and mission statement.
Animal Tropikal is a clothing company with a lot of flavor that sells short sleeve shirts. Our amazing photo-shoots and our tagline #muchokaliente identifies us as a fun and risky company.
Three years ago I moved to Madrid and have been developing my career as a Visual Artist, which I complement with freelance work as a Copywriter.
I believe that my multicultural experience, my presentation skills and my deep knowledge of the English and Spanish language make me a great candidate for the job at hand.
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you.
