Maria Joana Neil E. Balbas

Hi! I am a licensed English teacher here in the Philippines. I was able to teach in the tertiary education for some time and taught English courses such as Grammar, Reading, Writing, Technical Writing, Research Writing, Speech Communication and even Literature to Engineering and Education students of Far Eastern University in Manila, for institutes of Education and Technology. Simultaneously, I’ve become a lecturer for Licensure Exam for Teachers Review on which I am regularly invited by universities and colleges here in the Philippines to conduct lectures in preparing their graduating students and even alumni take their board exam for professionalization purposes. Same way, I am an active partner of a review center as their Program Director managing the flow of the review program, its current curriculum, its materials and its effectiveness. Being the program manager also gives me the task to present the program to various academic clients such as deans and presidents of universities.
As a freelancer, I also accept research consultancies as I am a research teacher, specifically, for educational research. Hence, several students would seek my help on conceptualization up to defense of their theses. Further, I also do proofreading tasks and editing on any written work. I was an assistant-editor once of an international church-based newsletter from a church in Geneva, Switzerland.
As a teacher by profession, I was able to teach from elementary up to tertiary levels. Right now, I’m finishing my Master’s Degree in Educational Management and dreams to be a principal one day as well as one of the most in demand speaker on various speaking engagements specifically catering to Education topics, English topics and even topics on Women’s Rights and Empowerment.
