Reading my first books, it was clear to me that words, when used by talented writers, had the power to transport us to different and interesting places. That was quite a while back. However, the fascination remains. Words have the power to inform, build worlds, connect people and present us places and cultures that we wouldn’t have access to otherwise. As I grew up and started to learn about languages and writing it also became evident the importance of translators. Translators act as communicators, as a bridge through which knowledge and information are transported from one culture to another. A good translation doesn’t sound like a translation; it sounds like it was originally written in the target language. It was with that in mind that I became I translator, educator, and writer: so that I could help bring people and cultures together.
