Summary: I was employed as a web developer building web applications & sites
based on WordPress. Developed several websites for clients, including project
specifications, unit-testing, and training. Maintained websites done in the years
previous to my employment, as well as fixing any bug reports that came in.

Please find the details on few of my projects that I have been part of below.
1. WordPress portal for healthy food guidelines
The website was designed with a mobile-first approach for users browsing on tablet
and mobile devices and contains hundreds of recipes, articles, diet plans, Q and A
within a searchable database. Admin can add recipes, articles, diet plans etc which are
built as custom post types and have its own set of custom fields easily managed by
admin.
Customized templates built, with all custom options in the admin for easy and better
control of the contents.
The site allows user registration which is customized especially to allow the user to
edit its username and upload profile picture. Registering on the website also allows
the reader to save recipes, store articles and make use of dietary planners which can
be seen on the customized profile section on logging in. Tasked with delivering not
only healthy, nutritional recipes the site includes expert health advice on a range of
conditions which is handled using custom post types and admin options.
The website also incorporates all the current advertising formats across all devices
ensuring revenue opportunities are maximized. The website comes with a rating
system which allows the user to rate the recipes. The extensive collection of recipes,
articles, diet plans, Q and A can be filtered by over ten dietary requirements, by
ingredient or occasion, and ratings etc
The website has a competition section, details of which is saved in the database and
we have built a custom admin section where the admin can export all or for a range of
dates details in CSV.

2. Online Magazine/Press-Publications Review System
Designed and implemented a responsive WordPress site for showcasing Magazine
and Press Publication content on the web for review and approval by the design
review team. The application provides the ability for the admin to create and add
responsive templates that have content area tags defined.
The application exposes REST APIs( this was before WP Rest APIs ) that allow for a
custom InDesign Plugin to query the list of available templates and then send back
selected template id and content tagged via a XML POST. The application then parse
the tagged XML content to populate the selected responsive template and allows for
authorized users to access the publication/magazine via their desktop browser or
mobile device. The users can then add comments on the layout of the publication
pages and export templates as standalone HTML pages for uploading into Adobe
DPS so registered user can download and review the publication/magazine.
The application implements a simplified custom tagging version of IDML (Adobe
InDesign Markup Language) and overcomes the bulk and complexity of the
documentation/methods that are provided by Adobe Systems for data exchange with
InDesign and custom 3rd party systems.

3. Wordpress Theme Development
Developed and customized professional WordPress themes. Implemented options
which allows the WordPress admin user to customize the theme and create a unique
website as per his/her preference. The options allows the admin to customize the
design, header, blog style, footer and templates that are used by the setup.
Implemented a metabox feature with drag and drop functionality which allows
customization of each published page. Implemented custom post types that allow
content to be viewed as a carousel, slider or portfolio page. The themes/designs were
implemented as responsive designs that allow for content to be viewed on touch
devices such as ipad and iphone. We also implemented touch and swipe gesture
support. Implemented code to integrate and track purchases with the WordPress app
store. We implemented features in several different themes that are now available on
the WordPress app store.

4. Woothemes customization: Artwork Collections Plugin
Heavily customized the existing site and added two new views for showcasing of
artworks. Added a sorting view where the user can drag and drop to sort the artworks
to his/her choice and then an expanded view with sorting which not only allowed the
user to sort the artworks using drag and drop but also allowed quick edits on the
details related to a particular artwork or a collection of artworks.
Implemented a freely available custom plug-in to fetch the artworks from the client
sites. Only authenticated users/subscribers to the system can use the plugin which
uses a token created in the main site for the duration of the session. Also used
WordPress plugin development standards to ensure that the plugin works with any
WordPress setup/theme. This plug-in also reflects the sorting order as it is in the main
site. As the plug-in deals with lots of images we implemented local cache
functionality to make the plugin pages load faster. This plug-in also lets users edit the
related css files from the admin back-end and also provides color-picker and varying
font sizes/types for users who prefer editing the style sheet directly on their site.

5. WordPress portal for a healthcare system
Developed a WordPress portal for a healthcare system that revolves around building a
custom WordPress responsive theme consisting of several page templates.
I also created a custom module which offers the feature of different hyper-linked
header image (or slider set) for each main section of the site which is easy to update
by their staff. The site has a customized navigation menu given to provide elegant
look and feel throughout the site. Several custom widgets were created and widget
logic was implemented to have a better control on the pages that the widget will
appear on.
The site features a dynamic content feed on the main page that dynamically pulls the
most recent content from 3 different sections and has inbuilt functionality to sort
content by various filters. I have made use of MyEMMA webservices to manage
mailing list, members and responses etc.
This site also uses Marketo SOAP API to manage campaign, lead etc. I have created
custom forms and heavily used ajax for interfacing with the 3rd party APIs. The site
has all the necessary redirects and SEO fields completed, optimized and implemented
to maintain site traffic and ranking using 301 redirects and WordPress SEO plugin.
