Evaluate. Design. Execute.
We incorporate the evaluation, design and execution phases
into every solution we approach where they’re needed in
the process - not according to some pre-determined plan.
Evaluation happens at the beginning
of a project, and then again at the very
end ― and sometimes at the end of
different phases. Research of all kinds
falls under evaluation, as do usability
testing and traffic analysis.
Design here doesn’t mean visual
design. It includes high-level project
strategy and proposals for publicfacing and back-end features related
to project. It also includes the design
of tactical plans for project execution
and the design of processes for
long-term management of product.
Execution refers to all the things we
do to turn strategies and concepts
into reality: wireframes and prototypes, visual and interactive design,
technology development, and so on.
Keeping the process transparent and iterative means you’ll always
know when and why researching, brainstorming, concepting,
sketching, designing and programming occur.

GetTaxi is a global virtual taxi grid across three continents with
game-changing technology and an unbelievable customer
experience that takes transportation to lofty new heights.
Get Taxi needed a design partner that could work with its
technology team to deliver a slick, high quality experience
across a range of mobile devices. Challenged to find an agency
with the skill set required and the ability to easily work
alongside a global team operating over multiple time zones,
they looked to D.Workz as the right fit.
Along with a cohesive brand identity, we developed
the user experience and designed a free iPhone and
Android app to serve both passengers and taxi drivers.
Since the application’s launch, Get Taxi has signed on
over 6,000 taxi drivers. With over 1 million downloads,
1,500 corporate customers, 42 million dollars in
funding and rave reviews from drivers and
passengers alike, the app has enjoyed phenomenal
success.

Culver Academies

Since 1894, Culver Academies has long been considered one of
the premier boarding schools in the Midwest. Located in rural
Indiana, the school aims to educate its students to become
responsible leaders of tomorrow.
Culver Academies relies on its website heavily. The Culver
website is the most frequented and accessible point of contact
for prospective students and parents. As such, the school’s
website needed to be cutting edge to deliver the Culver story
in an engaging and emotional way.
Through a deep analysis of existing content, business
goals and users’ needs, D.Workz developed a mobile
friendly website that has become the cornerstone of
the Culver brand.
The new site has enhanced the user experience for
over 1,000 visitors a week. This 69% increase in just
over a year of the new site’s completion has created
a very effective funnel through which users are
completing complex tasks and more easily finding
the resources they need.

NextBio provides a scientific platform to aggregate and interpret
large quantities of genomic data for research and clinical
applications.
NextBio approached us to help them take their existing platform
to the next level by improving content architecture, user
experience and UI design. The challenge was impressive reinvent NextBio’s platform to make the process of exploring
scientific data more intuitive for a broad range of users.
In response, we developed a series of different “vertical
apps” which allowed us to break down data into
independent parts targeted to very specific areas of
research based on corresponding user types. As well,
we built the user interface with a light color palette.
This allowed the data to pop off the screen and make
it easier for the researchers to browse between
sections and differentiate content.
Currently, NextBio’s platforms are being used by
researchers and clinicians in more than 50
commercial and academic institutions.

Sales KPI iPad App

Amdocs is the market leader in software and services for service
providers in the communications, media and entertainment industry.
Amdocs asked D.Workz to help them transform an outdated Sales
KPI desktop application into an intuitive and meaningful tablet
experience on behalf of one of the biggest media companies in
the United States.
Amdocs’ client needed a way for crew managers to monitor
the overall performance of their team along with the individual
performance of the sales rep within the team.
We managed to take this highly complex problem and
distilled it down to a user friendly solution for the client.
Within the application, managers can look at the current
overall status of actual results versus targets, drilling
down to the rep level to see individual performance.
This has enabled managers to identify events that
have a large impact on the bottom line. Access to up
to the minute information keeps everyone in
the loop, making it far easier to understand where
and why problems are surfacing and quickly
alleviate them.

Silo Responsive Website

Silo is a cloud based container designed by the Authentic8 team for
secure, controlled access to important web applications. Each time
Silo is launched, users get a freshly built browsing environment with
SSO links to provisional apps. All web code is contained within Silo.
Apps are insulated from exploits and business data is kept
separate from personal browsing.
Authentic8 approached D.Workz to create a product logo and
marketing website designed to explain Silo’s purpose and its
benefits for the consumer.
We decided to tell a simple story through a single web page
that would showcase easy to understand examples of how
Silo protects business data.
Through a combination of jump navigation and layered
information architecture, the site offers different ways
to explore varying levels of detail. Simple yet elegant,
Silo’s website creates a straightforward user
experience that tells a compelling story of
the product’s importance in keeping business
data safe.

Terminal.com

Terminal, a San Francisco-based startup founded by some
ex-Facebook and Google technical talent, is transforming the way
people do software development.
Terminal built system supporting containers, or ultra-fast virtual
machines that let developers write, ship and collaborate on code
directly from the browser.
Prior to our engagement with Terminal, they worked internally
to execute the experience design of their online presence.
However, a few months after launch, Terminal owners quickly
learned that the website wasn’t driving the level of conversion
they were expecting so they engaged D/Workz to rethink
how Terminal could live online.
Collaboration was our guiding principle from the beginning
of the project. We worked side by side with Terminal
team to rapidly prototype ideas and designs for the new
website.
A complete visual update resulted in more web visitors
and significantly increased conversion rate.
Within one week after launch of redesigned
website Terminal.com witnessed over 70,000
unique visitors, where over 65 percent became
paid customers.
