Ogechi Miriam Ikechi

I am a passionate educator with an eye for detail. I have taught students (children and adults inclusive) of over 10 nationalities the different aspects of written and spoken English; this includes speakers of English as a first language, second language users and those who acquire it as an additional language. Also, I teach Literature and have explored literature from all around the world. I have almost a decade of experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE O and A-Level, Edexcel International GCSE and SAT.

Being, an English major, I love to create memorable experiences for my learners as much as I have had good memories of learning in the classroom. Remote teaching just opens up a whole new opportunity to further add value beyond the shores of my country. So, in the bid to achieve this I am adept at using a variety of learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, Zoom,e.t.c., to connect with learners remotely.

I also enjoy writing articles and short stories; my ability to notice the smallest details in my students’ writing and speech makes me a fantastic editor and proofreader. I have previously engaged in journalistic writing and editing content for a newspaper company. I create content for educational startups that teach using technology (e.g., animation) and copy edit/proofread articles, books and other kinds of literature.

In addition, I am a good multi-tasker, reliable, a fast-paced reader and work well under pressure.
