Peter Risi

Music affects everyone on the planet so understanding that is kind of a first step acknowledgment. Though the theory aspect may not be for everyone, I think it's important to present music theory in a manner that is easily understood and usable. My approach has always been working with people, not forcing the theoretical standpoint so they feel good about making that connection to be used throughout a lifetime of performing and creating music. 

My name is Peter Risi and I am a professional musician and guitar instructor. I'm currently a part time instructor at Santa Monica College, and the Join The Band school. I've been teaching people of all ages on acoustic, electric, classical, bass guitars, and music theory. With over 15 years teaching experience, I have a successful track record retaining a solid student base by helping to see them engaged in heartfelt learning. You will find that I truly enjoy teaching and am grateful to share music with people of all ages.
