I'm a former broadcast journalist who now works as a freelance communications and campaigns specialist in the not-for-profit sector. I have worked for the BBC, independent radio stations and some of the largest international NGOs, including Oxfam.
During my 3 and a half years working with Oxfam I was lucky enough to work in many different countries including Jordan, Liberia and Zambia. During my time as Media Advisor for the Syria Crisis I worked closely with campaigns and policy colleagues to form our communications strategy for journalists, politicians and other influentials. I also assisted in the launch of Oxfam's first digital campaigns platform (act.oxfam.org) and designed the organisations first user generated content gathering platform, Oxfam Stories (oxfamstories.org).
Key skills for the above roles include; designing and implementing communications and social media strategies, producing press releases, producing multimedia content and designing and implementing digital campaigns.
My previous experience as a broadcast journalist and news editor includes video and radio news production and editing, news reading, voiceovers, and social media strategies.
