The project uses GPS fleet tracking for vehicle and uses Wi-Fi communication technology for data transfer from HEMM to central station. The application S/W called MINEOPS developed in C on UnixWare is the heart of the system. It captures and displays real time vehicle movement in the field on to around 20 client nodes at distant locations connected over LAN. On Line server interacts with oracle database on same machine and to client machines through TCP/IP socket programming interface. On board equipment fitted on vehicles receive positional coordinate data (Latitude, longitude, altitude) from the GPS satellites and send it to on-line server under well-defined protocol through Wi-Fi network The various functionalities of the system include 1. After fetching the different kinds of statistics, this tool sends that via mail in a readable format. This tool needs to be run every hour so that user can get report every hours. Project 3: Log reader Tool (UNIX), C++ and Oracle-9i –PL/SQL: At high level, the log reader script reads the log file from multiple servers. The user will be promoted to provide the server name and corresponding log file to be accessed. The user also provides the type of data he has to extract from the log file.
