My name is Rui and i’m from Fátima, about 1 and a half hours from Lisbon, Portugal’s Capital.

I have been developing in PHP for more than 15 years, up to recently I was partner of a
Design / Tech company here in Fátima, where I planned and created from scratch the whole
Infrastructure and Business model:
Planned and installed a virtualization solution (Citrix xenserver)
Created and installed several Virtual machines using centos Linux (LAMP) as webserver
Developed a FULL Proprietary CMS System (this was an amazing task) On PHP + MySQL + Smarty + Jquery + Html + Css (and many other) , all our websites were developed using this cms.
Installed and Managed an email SERVER Based on the Synacor Zimbra, in order to provide a professional email solution to our clients.
Created batch scripts to manage server backups
Worked in several projects in many areas as an outsourcing developer for EU companies.
I’m also creative with large photoshop skills

Are you looking for remote work?
Yes, that’s it, but I don’t need to be always in Portugal, I’m available to travel and spend time
outside of Portugal to have meetings or to meet some client or to do some temporary local work.
All of this is possible, if a client needs me to spend 3 months developing locally, let’s do it…

Which – personal or professional – achievement in your life you are particularly proud of?
I love to learn, the challenge of mastering something unknown is awesome. I’m proud of the passion
i put into everything I do, no matter if it’s work related or personal. I love what I do for work, I’m
proud that i have built two successful web design and development companies, i was partner of the last
one (www.sensorial.pt) until 2 months ago when I decided I needed something different.
Yeahh, I love what I do and I’m proud of it, but nothing compares to how much I’m proud of my two year old daughter, she is just amazing…

In your judgement, at what level is your spoken and written English?
Well, Written you can judge by yourself, spoken is better…

Do you speak other languages? Which ones (please indicate the level)?
Portuguese is my birth language, English is like a birth language to me.
Spanish is very similar to Portuguese so, and despite I don’t really speak
Spanish it’s really easy to make myself understand.
I can read, write and speak a tiny tiny bit of French, (ohhlalahhh!!!)

What salary do you expect (in €)? Indicate the range.
I would love something above 2000€ to start with and in the Future who knows, the sky is the limit…
