SHANAALICE.COM - COVERING LETTER Hi & Hello! My name is Shana Alice and I am a freelance creative with 7 years of graphic design and art direction experience. My creative journey started back in my primary school notebook, doodling pictures and making up my own bubble letter fonts. After seeing these, other kids in my class asked if I could decorate the front covers of their notebooks and for a few days ontop of homework I had a pile of my classmates books to decorate. I loved it, and was very curious to know if that sort of thing could be a job someday. Fast forward a few years of studying, working at ad agencies, winning the odd award or two I decided to start freelancing, to feel some of the freedom that I felt I was missing in my career. It has been an exciting 3 year journey of being a full-time freelancer where I have learnt some valuable lessons about myself, the world around me and the impact and power that creativity has to bring people together, to teach and to inspire. It is my dream to use my creativity for good. For a few years while working at fast-paced ad agencies I felt at times that I was part of the problem. Working on campaigns that where designed to make people feel as if they lacked something in some way, that they needed to have more in order to be more. For the first few years I was oblivious but eventually I couldn't bring myself to use my creative spirit in order to make someone else feel bad or have a hand at getting them into serious debt. I am passionate about education, technology, the environmental & sustainability, health & wellness, animals and making things with my hands. I look forward to hearing from you.
