Shantanu Som

Shantanu has worked in HCL Limited and Indian Railways in senior positions. An Electrical Engineer by education, Shantanu specializes in the field of digital imaging, image processing, and embedded systems. He started his entrepreneurship venture with Somnetics in 1996.

As the Founder and CEO of Somnetics (Som Imaging Informatics Pvt. Ltd.), he transformed the organization from an imaging and informatics company to a leading digital transformation organisation, serving high end corporate and government clients across the globe. Somnetics is a CMMI Level 3, ISO 9001, ISO 270001 and ISO 20000-1 certified company. Innovation and research are the key interests which drive Shantanu, enabling him to lead Somnetics to a top-notch innovative enterprise bagging awards and recognition both globally and locally.

Somnetics is also the manufacturer and owner of the IPR of highly acclaimed indigenously developed software products like Seamless® and i-doc®, an intelligent Business Process Automation software with a capable Enterprise Content & Collaboration Management System.

Resource optimization, alternative energy, and restoring a green planet is Shantanu’s passion, and he commits himself to these causes.

Shantanu takes a keen interest in trekking, nature, animal rights and is an invested photographer. He is a member of IEEE and SPIE, the International Society for Optics and Photonics since 2002.
