About

Hello,

My name is Silvia and I'm Italian.

I'm a freelance interpreter, translator and subtitler.

I graduated in conference interpreting and translation with distinction at the Higher School of Modern languages for Interpreters and Translators in Trieste (Italy), one of Europe's most renowned and accredited academic institutes for interpreters and translators.

I started my own activity as a freelancer before graduating, teaching English as a foreign language and working regularly as a conference interpreter and translator. My working languages are English, German, French, and Italian, and my projects cover a wide variety of subjects, ranging from legal affairs to medicine, from public business and marketing to art and cinema.

My excellent organizational skills allowed me to pass a very strict selection procedure in summer 2010 to become Programme Director for Project International, a leading youth tour operator, where my tasks included the coordination and supervision of 10 staff members and the overall responsibility of 98 students.

Before this, I also had the unique opportunity to be trained as a subtitler at Titelbild GmbH, Berlin, where I carried out important subtitling projects for key account clients like Paramount Pictures, Warners Bros., and Eagle Pictures, which involved the subtitling and editing of long feature films from English into Italian.

This was probably one of the most rewarding professional experiences in my life, as I learnt to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines and to pay very close attention to even the smallest details.

Since then, my professional competences have grown, allowing me to start collaboration projects with the Biennale in Venice, a private University in Gorizia and illycaffè SpA, a renowned coffee roasting company.

My professional experiences, both as a freelance and as an in-house translator/interpreter, have provided me with the necessary flexibility to work well in a team as well as autonomously. I have a great sense of responsibility and have never missed a deadline.
