I grew up on point-and-click adventure games and largely Nintendo products but was able to build my own PC in high school. My free time is spent largely between writing my own creative work and engaging in gaming in some way, whether it be through playing them myself or watching someone else play them through websites like YouTube and Twitch. In earning my BFA in Creative Writing, I have had to produce numerous short works of writing and have both given and received feedback on creative works in many of my classes. My concentration is in the fiction area of creative writing, with most of my pieces falling under the genre of young adult, science fiction, and/or fantasy. Receiving feedback from my peers, superiors, and audiences is extremely important to me as a writer. I enjoy working with a group of fellow creatives and being able to share ideas with each other that strengthen a project. As a part of the gaming community, I am consistently on the lookout for new releases and audience reception on major game releases. While every member of the community is different, I often think about how my own pieces could be received if they were delivered in a video game format. Queer representation is something that I also focus on in my own writing, and I believe that proper representation of all kinds is a great way to make gamers feel seen and validated in the media that they are consuming.
