Syed Yasir Ahmed

I, Syed Yasir Ahmed, 28 years old, have grown up in the vibrant city of Karachi, Pakistan. Since childhood I’m lump of clay molded far from perfection. Sometimes, I’m angered with the tint of red; sometimes jealousy overcomes me; sometimes I’m sad; sometimes I’m mysterious and dark; sometimes weak; frequently superficial. My individuality is a strange paradox. Yet controlling these emotions to make the most out of them is something I’ve mastered. Being Optimistic, as many would say, has helped me greatly over the years. Of the little exposure I have experienced, disgust, jealousy, rejection and motivation have never stopped me from my aim. If anything, they’ve just made me a stronger person. From my childhood I’ve seen cut-throat competition in almost every subject and its consequences are far-reaching; people are demoralized. So, the adversity on the borders of reality has in fact been my teacher and character molder.

I have recently moved to Pakistan after working for 2 years at Vittoria Foods and Beverages (Sydney- Australia) as Professional Accountant. During my tenure there, I have been extensively involved in financial analysis, management reporting as well as cash flow management. My tasks included forecasting monthly cash outflow and reporting to senior accountant, purchasing overseas currencies on spot rate via corporate banking, monthly reconciling creditor and banks statements, analyzing capital expenditure and performing other various ad-hoc duties.

It is also worth mentioning that I obtained a postgraduate degree in Accounting from Macquarie University followed by successfully clearing 5 papers of professional Level of CPA.
