I have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music with Honours through the University of the Witwatersrand and received a distinction in Composition Studies in my final year. I also received a distinction for the completion of my Grade 5 Music Theory examination in my first year. I am passionate about composing music, possess a unique
compositional style, am familiar with a variety of music genres, and I have extensive knowledge of music theory.
In 2018 I was fortunate enough to undergo a traineeship with ASSITEJ South Africa where I worked at the NSA
Festival of the Arts. Additionally, I also completed a 6-month traineeship with WITS Orchestra where I performed
various administrative functions, as well as organised the orchestra’s first concert. The traineeships were
invaluable experiences, as I had the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes at art festivals and
successfully organise a concert of a not yet well-established entity. Furthermore, I am proficient in drums and percussion, and am familiar with various other instruments. I obtained in-depth knowledge of the history of music, ear training, and various compositional techniques. My studies also included musical analyses and I am skilled at writing my own music.
